Analytics: Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use our site, for example which pages are popular and what devices people use. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect this information, including pages visited, time on site, approximate location (country or city), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We use this information in aggregate and do not use it to identify you.

Comments and Gravatar
An anonymised string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it and to show your profile picture next to your comment. The Gravatar privacy policy is available at automattic.com/privacy.
If you leave a comment, you can choose to save your name, email address and website in cookies so you don’t have to fill them in again. These cookies last for one year.
Embedded content
Articles may include embedded content, such as videos from YouTube. Embedded content behaves as if you visited the other website directly, and that website may collect data about you, use cookies and track your interaction with the embedded content.
Who we share information with
- Google: for advertising (AdSense) and analytics (Google Analytics), as described above.
- Service providers: our web hosting provider, email provider and backup services, which process data on our behalf to run the site.

How long we keep information
- Comments and their metadata are kept for as long as the comment is published on the site.
- Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to reply and follow up, and are deleted within 12 months.
- Server logs and backups are kept for a limited period for security and recovery purposes.
- Cookies last for the periods described in our cookie policy.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy of it;
- ask us to correct or delete your personal information;
- object to or restrict how we use your information;
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent;

Children
Petmonik is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK). If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, including secure connections (HTTPS) and keeping our software up to date. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, however.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
